Case law
The case law database contains determinations of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal and of the Upper Tribunal and the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal. It is the only authoritative public source of IAC / AIT determinations.
The inclusion of a determination in the database should not be taken as an indication that it represents current law. Determinations marked ‘CG’, however, are to be treated as current country guidance.
In accordance with, ‘Practice Statement on Form of decisions and neutral citation First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal on or after 3 November 2008 (31 October 2008)’, a determination of the IAC will be numbered in the following way:
- Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber): [200n] UKUT 1 (IAC)
- First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber): [200n] UKFTT 1 (IAC)
Due to technical difficulties, the letters “(IAC)” at the end of the neutral citation do not appear on case law database. We hope to have this rectified as soon as possible.
